The Edmonton Oilers logo

This weekend I was looking at a mangled Edmonton Oilers lawn chair and had a sudden realization. If you take [most of] the letters in Oilers you can rearrange them to spell something else.

    What? That doesn’t even work!

    New lows, LT, new lows…

PS. Apparently Calgary fans are incapable of doing anagrams!

    🙂 again.

The Oilers will miss the playoffs this year. I guarantee it. Calgary added Tanguay, Minnesota got Demitra, Vancouver got Luongo and Mitchell and Edmonton lost have their defense plus Peca has signed with Toronto. Expectations will be high and that won’t help either. And Roloson simply can’t do what he did in the playoffs for a full NHL season. Lupul will help, but it won’t be enough. I’m looking forward to the “Pronger asked for a trade” hangover 🙂 .

And did you hear that ERIC LINDROS is going to Dallas??? He’s so old, I wonder why he’s still playing!

    The proper Anagram would be

    “I Loser”

As for Edmonton not making the playoffs… I just don’t see it happening. You see, just because Calgary added Tanguay doesn’t mean their scoring is going to take off, because they are still stuck with a two man offense. Sure Vancouver added goaltending and defense, but their offence is a remnant of its former self.

However much it pains me to confess this as an Oilers fan, the only true contender in the Northwest is Minnisota. The standings will end as follows:

    1. Minnisota

    2. Calgary

    3. Edmonton (easily making the playoffs)

    4. Vancouver

    5. Colorado
