Boycott America?

Boycott America?

It looks like the anti-war effort aims to change their strategy against the US.  There are people who are hoping to organize a global boycott of US and British goods.  I’m not exactly sure what to think about this.  Although I know one American has chosen to boycott Canada.

I have argued with my neighbors about this for awhile. The US cannot have foreign policies that alienate the rest of the world like this. It might not have immediate impact… but the appeal of the US is all about it’s consumerism and it’s products it offers. But if the world consumers is attaching this foreign policy to any american product, the product will fail globally. (I read recently that US brands like Walmart, Disney have seen a 10% drop since the Iraq war.)

I live in the US, and this really concerns me. Jobs are being shipped overseas in hope it creates new consumers for american products. But if we are just alienating them and they don’t buy american products, then what hell good is it! We just have higher unemployment.
