When I was young, it seemed that life was so wonderful,
a miracle, oh it was beautiful, magical.
And all the birds in the trees, well they’d be singing so happily,
joyfully, playfully watching me.

I close my eyes, only for a moment, and the moment’s gone
All my dreams, pass before my eyes, a curiosity

Take that look of worry
I’m an ordinary man
They don’t tell me nothing
So I find out what I can
There’s a fire that’s been burning
Right outside my door
I can’t see but I feel it
And it helps to keep me warm

Tho’ my life was in a rut
“Till I thought of what I’d say
Which connection I should cut
I was feeling part of the scenery
I walked right out of the machinery
My heart going boom boom boom
“Hey” he said “Grab your things
I’ve come to take you home.”

And I will go on shining
Shining like brand new
I’ll never look behind me
My troubles will be few

Goodbye stranger it’s been nice
Hope you find your paradise
Tried to see your point of view
Hope your dreams will all come true

Did you write that poem? If not who did? I really like it. I really enjoy when you read poetry and can see things from different angles. Its a good one. :-)

They are lyrics from 5 different songs. Can anyone guess what they?

Mostly Supertramp, I reckon. Ancient history. Pre-dates disco inferno.

    Hmm…

    Supertramp: The Logical Song

    Kansas: Dust in the Wind

    Phil Collins: Take Me Home

    Peter Gabriel:Solsbury Hill (sp?)

    Supertramp: Goodbye Stranger

The Phil Collins one was the hardest!

Hey LT, glad to see you post. I hope things are looking up. I went through the same thing last year, and likewise it wasn’t pretty. We got better lighting this year for the dark months =).

    IM me some time.

    In Christ,

    Justin
